Ingredients:
2 cups of nuts (Cashews have a meaty flavour)
salt to taste
1 cup of water
3/4 cup of sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon ginger
1/2 teaspoon cardamom seeds
mix the spices and add to ingredients to taste
Method:
Add the sugar and water to a pan and the add the nuts and last add the spices according to taste. Cook over high heat with you stirring all the time. You will know when the nuts are ready when the water evaporated and the sugar turns slightly brown. Cool down and enjoy. Remember to remove the cardamom pods before serving.
note: I like a little bit of peri-peri with the mix.
nuts do have a high content of fat... keep it moderate.
